Becoming proficient in Cantonese is a long haul, but it starts somewhere to build a simple conversation. This Beginner Cantonese 1 course is designed for non-native speakers who live with Cantonese family members but have little or no experience in formal Cantonese learning. In this course, you will be introduced with the basic Cantonese sentence structures and vocabulary, as well as the application of Jyutping and tones, one of the standard Cantonese Romanization systems that is commonly used today. After studying this 10-week course, you will be able to ask and answer basic questions in Cantonese and hold a simple conversation with your family.
Writing – There will be 15 minutes in each session that is used to study traditional Chinese characters.
