Pre-requisites – Beginner Cantonese 2, OR family members, colors, directions, some daily routines, present & past aspects, and a basic familiarity of Jyutping. (Please email inspirlang@gmail.com or schedule a free consultation below to request Jyutping studying material before class starts).
Material – Cantonese for Upper Beginners: Levels 3&4 Curriculum. Material will be distributed both digitally and in print. For physical copies, please ensure you entered the correct mailing address on your InspirLang profile to so that the copy will get to you in time.
You have now reached the more fun parts of learning Cantonese! Starting from the Upper Beginner series (Level 3+), we will be working more on building ideas and expressing opinions in Cantonese. This Upper Beginner Cantonese Level 3 class is for you to pick up where you left off from your last course of basic Cantonese Level 1 and 2, or if you grew up listening to Cantonese but never had a chance to formally learn to its syntax and phonology. In this course, you will be introduced with more daily sentence structures and vocabulary and understand how to form meaningful conversations with them. You will also learn the application of tones and Jyutping, one of the standard Cantonese Romanization systems that is commonly used today. After studying this 8-week course, you will be able to ask and answer hold a simple conversation with your families and native friends as well as writing short paragraphs.
Writing – There will be 15 minutes in each session that is used to study traditional Chinese characters.
